Dog Patch and COVID-19

Hello! We really wanted to take a minute and reassure everyone that we are taking every precaution at the store to prevent the spread of illnesses such as COVID-19.

First and foremost we want to let you know that there is no concern currently that you will contract COVID-19 from dogs and cats. Here is a statement from the A.V.M.A. about Coronavirus and pets.

-Right now, the primary concern is for human health. The virus causes flu-like symptoms in people, including mild to severe respiratory illness with fever, cough, and difficulty breathing.

-At this time, experts have not expressed concern about transmission to or from animals. Multiple international health organizations have indicated that pets and other domestic animals are not considered at risk for contracting COVID-19.

-As always, animal owners should continue to include pets and other animals in their emergency preparedness planning, including keeping a two-week supply of food and medications on hand.

Our animals are still available for adoption and are still looking for homes. So please do not be afraid to adopt because of this virus.

We want to make sure you are comfortable shopping at our store and we want to make things easy as this is further impacting everyone's life. We will do everything in our power to ensure the safety of our staff, the animals, and our loyal customers. We are cleaning screens and pens between customers at the register, we are disinfecting as much as we can on a very regular basis, staff is staying home if they are sick, etc. As we do not know what the future holds with this virus we just want to let everyone know that we will work with our customers at their comfort level and try to accommodate everyone to the best of our abilities.

If you are at any point uncomfortable coming into the store please call us. we have various ideas on how we can make this safe and easy for everyone if it comes down to it.

-If you call us when you pull up, we would be more than happy to bring out your items for you and check you out at your car (we have mobile payment options)

-We may be able to deliver to your door in the near future or if the need is desperate, please call the store (630)-420-2120 as it depends on demand and staffing but if it comes down to it we will try and make this work! More than likely if needed we can get your items to you in a few days if you are in one of our surrounding communities. Since we don't know how or if this will escalate please give us a call and we will see what we can do for you!

Again we are trying to make sure everyone is able to feed their pets and get their daily comforts to the best of our ability in this time of uncertainty. We love you all and want you to be safe and informed.

Please follow the CDC or WHO for updates on this virus, they are the most reliable source at the moment.
